Here's a question for the ADSL gurus on the forum. What error rate is acceptable on a ADSL connection?
I have been watching my router lately, and today I decided to do some calculations. The router reported it was online for 2d 2h 8m, which works out to 180,480s. In that period it encountered 6,720 errored seconds, and 7,186 CRC errors upstream, with both counters on 0 for the downstream connection.
This works out to an error rate of 3.72% timewise, and 25.11s / CRC error.
I can't detect any problems on the line in terms of dropped connections, or anything else I can attribute to this, but I am curious as to a reasonable threshold.
