Hi all,
I have been using a second hard drive as a backup and for storage of edited videos. I wanted to switch the 2 hard drives to make this second one my primary one, so cleared it and used Norton Ghost to copy everything from the first to the second.
The process worked fine and I then changed the drives' Master and Slave settings, but on restarting (and on almost all subsequent restarts) I receive the following error message:
Generic Host Processes for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close.
The error signature points to szAppName: svchost.exe and szModname: ntdll.dll.
Don't know if this is causing it, but I now can't get sound on some websites or from within Sounds and Devices in Control Panel (Windows cannot play the sound xxx. Your sound card may be in use). I can hear CD's played and any streaming of radio in Media Player for example, so I know the sound is working.
The second error message I get is when I try to open up User Accounts in Control Panel:
Microsft HTML Application host has encountered a problem and needs to close. AppName: mshta.exe and ModName: mshtml.dll.
I have tried to get help on this by Googling, but nobody seems to have the solution.
I never had any errors when using my old drive.
If anyone can help out, I would be most grateful.
