Please can anybody assist with contact details for senior persons at MTNSP who can assist when account queries need to be escalated. I have an outstanding account query since Oct 2014 for which I have received only promises of correction. Currently I am in credit with MTN but they have now suspended my service as they believe differently. I have been overcharged R330.00pm since October 2014. I have 9 reference numbers (and growing) where correction is promised yet to no avail. Neither Hellopeter nor ICASA have been able to assist. I am now very frustrated with this state of affairs. The question arises as to how valued their customers are? Account number A0344000 is applicable

Go to your bank and reverse the debit orders.
Someone from MTN will contact you soon enough.

I have done that twice. They just add random amounts for failure to pay and no one contacts you. Plus they change the debit number.
Next month it is an automated deduction again.

Which bank are you with?

Not necessary and no they wont contact you they merely suspend your service and demand payment of what they decide to charge, correct or not. I have been fortunate enough, it now seems, to have the debit order stopped hence to suspension of service. My problem is to get the amount already overcharged passed as a credit to my account. What is strange is the absence of contact details of anybody in MTN where dissatisfaction with accounting services can be escalated to! They all hide behind the 808 number as the only entry point (other than e-mail where we all know nothing happens as they reply with non nonsensical gibberish to get the queries off their to-do lists and then qualify for performance bonusses) This makes it clear that MTN is surely not serious about customer care doesn't it? Another fortunate situation is that this contract expires middle May and I will definitely be migrating to another service provider. Telkom comes to mind as I have only had excellent service from them! Can you believe that! This is after being with MTN from the beginning of cell phones when they were still M-Cell. What bothers me is I will now be "black listed" for something which is purely the incompetence and don't care attitude of their "customer care" staff. After all Mc Donalds, Kentucky and other takeouts are clearly more important than the customers paying their salaries.

MTN billing dept is useless. I've been receiving some company's invoice in my PO Box for the last five years. I've contacted MTN about it, returned to sender, written messages on the returned envelope only to receive it again....now I just toss them.

Take them to small claims court, there was a post on the forum about a guy who took a service provider to small claims court for a billing issue and he actually won. He said that he had all of his documentation and all of his ducks on a row. He said that opening the case at the small claims court was a bit of a pain but after that it plain sailing.

Follow Up; I have since lost it completely with MTN after a threatening letter and total cut-off of my service. In the meantime I was fortunate enough to get hold of the e-mail address of the COO of MTN in a very roundabout way, long story short I sent him an e-mail and within an hour had feedback as well as a credit note number and reconnection of my service. Now waiting for the billing department to process the credit note, I do not have much hope that it will happen soon, then again I console myself that I will make use of some of the other e-mail addresses I got hold of in the process. Here's to the eventual finalisation of my problem.

If somewhere in jo'burg...

Why not go to their HQ on 14th avenue?

(mobile view does not display area, even if you display area.)

Further update: I have today established that the credit has finally been passed and my account reflects a credit balance as it should be. So eventually all is well, just a pity for service delivery I had to struggle for six months and ultimately "go in" from the top!
