Good morning everyone, dr Data,

The tower I connect to has a battery problem. It lasts about 1 hour and then falls over when we get blacked out.

Huawei Router reports Cell ID 41164.

Eskom tower? (Or is there something called Escom?)
Cell C tower?
MTN tower?
Vodacom tower?
Telkom tower?
WISP tower?
Ham radio tower?

OP showing his age, the company used to be called Escom back in the 1920s.

I have literary no idea what you have just said OP.

You had escom then a battery operated tower then a unkown connection to this tower from an unknown device and then you had a huawei report and Cell ID.

Please be more specific then we can help :)

I know exactly what he said.

When Eskom is loadshedding the MTN tower that he is connected to [Cell ID 41164] only last 1 hour then goes dead. He said it could be due to a battery problem.

So I'm guessing he wants MTN to come and fix or replace the battery so when Eskom loadsheds he will still be able to use the internet and make calls.

Well fck me side ways.

I can use someone like you. I never liked reading between the lines.

The tower [this one] gets it data via other towers, so it might be that even another tower is at fault.

Same happens in Wilropark, Roodepoort.
30-40 minutes after loadshedding LTE falls away and everything goes to GPRS and EDGE and you can forget about even opening a web page on your iPad
