Eskom dancing around illegal residential connection problem

See post #8

This forum is the way it is today because of poeps like you. Guys like Roux left because everyone has lost their sense of humor and think they know better than the next forumite, reporting every other post because it doesn't fit into their grumpy schedule. Go have more coffee or something, you're in withdrawal.
This exactly proves 2 points: 1) Your original post has no humor at all and had a serious tone, not even close to sarcastic, and 2) This proves that your posts are vile, so please don't justify being a nasty person by referring to why Roux left because there is no way to prove your conjecture.

Like no one expected this? People were on this very forum shouting that everyone fitting solar panels will reduce the paying base from Eskom, which will force them to raise rates. Unfortunately, getting away from loadshedding by buying solar panels has now brought the prophecy to fruition.

I expect those that can afford it, to go off-grid entirely. Those that can't to reduce their usage and save up for it potentially starting contributing to theft, while those that were unable to even afford solar panels will likely move to zero-payment.

Expect this cycle to repeat until the death of Eskom or massive civil unrest forces a change in the status quo.

This cycle is starting with the water situation as well. Buy a off-grid system now whilst it's cheap.

I did use italics even if you can't see it and 1 out of 4 people found it lacked humour. The other three disagreed.

I can prove my conjecture, I have Roux' confirmation in writing.
If you say you have it, then that's fine, but that doesn't excuse the fact that you are being vile and try to attribute it to a lack of sense of humor.

You see, it really doesn't matter whether you used italics or 1 out of 4 people, so on and so forth. Your response was specifically referring to me as lacking humor and, by logical reasoning, the cause of people exiting the forum. This is a very generalised statement and in no way dispels the fact that people are just nasty and vile because that is the popular thing on this forum. Which funny enough, maybe the reason why your good friend Roux left, He didn't leave because people werent funny but because most people are unhinged and have huge fan clubs that agree with this behaviour.

The crazy part is that 25% of their base is non-paying thieves. Now how much of the remaining actual customer base is municipalities that charge customers then just don't pay the money across to Eskom?

I imagine you take all that non-paying away and suddenly there's no need for an increase at all.

Eskom should be allowed to cut non-paying municipalities off completely until they agree to settle. Real consequences. No more soft-handed approach. Munis just see electricity as a way to get pure profit now because they know Eskom won't cut them.

But its been the same way for a decade.

Eskom noticed that should it sell less to some, it would have to keep hiking the prices to others to keep the lights on.

It produces less power now than 20 years ago, scary but true, almost half. (Do remember we import a lot of Power, so it makes the Eskom production even worse).

So as clients leave, or reduce power, so does their income dwindle, so they have to hike prices to keep up with it.

Its actually similar to say the SABC but they dont hike up prices, they just hike up fines above inflation.

So at the end of the day, most of the users of be it SABC or Eskom dont actually pay a cent, but they want it all for free.

And in turn thats how SARS works too. Govt wants more and more money, but compared to abroad we would be getting pensions, child grants etc for the middle class...we dont get anything from Govt for the tax we pay. We have to pay for that all extra

What we need is a tax revolt similar to whats happening with the SABC. Refuse to pay till we get a proper service.

Before you have a go at Eskom, how many of you are zero buyers where movies, TV series and TV licenses are concerned…
-SABC and Multichoice

NoChoice's Frikkie is willing to nail all you Vetkoek Paleis pirates or more likely pilates. But no-one at ESKOM wants to do the walk.
