Eskom facing skills crisis

Stop affirmative action and black economic empowerment. Appoint skilled and experienced people instead. But, it may be way too late for this. It will take many decades to rebuild the infrastructure. It can no longer be saved.
 
I appreciate the problem. Engineering companies live and die by their ability to retain and attract skilled engineers.

And exactly as he said, Eskom is currently full of people who are incompetent and corrupt and the company culture is one of theft and abysmal standards.

I can’t think of a less attractive company to work for those wanting to do good work, you will constantly be pissing against the wind.

So how do you change to a culture of engineering excellence, integrity and rebuild your engineering skill set after it has been obliterated. I’m not convinced it’s possible, even with the best management.

Nope as a company Eskom is done. It will have to be rebuilt as something new. Its just gonna meander along for a few years/decades and eventually be irrelevant.

Private power is the only way.

The fact that race is even mentioned means that this is about politics.

Politics never solved anything.

Sorry, but any CEO who manages people like that should have been shown the door by the board. Pathetic all round.
