Eskom gets 13.3% additional price hike.

Power tariffs go up by 13.3%
The National Energy Regulator has granted Eskom a 13.3% hike.

This after the electricity giant requested a 53% tariff increase at public hearings last month.

In total consumers will be paying a little over 27% more for power, as Eskom was also awarded another increase (of about 14%) in December.

Nersa's 6-member subcommittee had to take into account more than 40 oral and 300 written submissions it received at hearings, before making the decision.
