Eskom has a certain set amount it costs them every month to generate electricity. Its much more now that everything has been looted and stolen. But they have to cover that cost with the looting.

So if they sell less electricity, they actually get less money. So in turn they have to keep increasing the price as they sell less electricity. They discovered this in 2008 when load shedding started. Gave out geyser duvets and power saving bulbs, only to sell a lot less.

Ironically we should be at 45k supply and not 20k supply. And when we have load shedding it means we are under upto 14k supply. Thats honestly how pathetic Eskom is.
