Eskom load shedding concerns

It was “too risky a commitment to make” to say there would be no load shedding in the coming months, says Minister in the Presidency Collins Chabane

If there is not enough electricity for south africa , why the f... are we still supplying the neighboring countries I ask with a tear in my eye. Where are the priorities?

And also stop the supply of 8% of SA's capacity to BHP Biliton under cost...

Well, its cause they make more money by doing this, Carte Blanche did an article a few years back and when we all had those MAJOR load shedding schedules, it was found out that they would sell all excess electricity to them whilst we sat in the dark.

Anyone prepared to bet that we will have load shedding? Time to get a UPS & generator....

Firstly, the problem with BHP is that it works both ways.
They get cheap electricity and Eskom gets cheap coal from BHP again.

Problem is and always will be the flipping govrnment.
When Eskom needs money for upgrades in the 90's, they were refused.
Now that Eskom needs to service power stations, they get told to fsk off and leave it running.

Problem is that sooner or later a strategic power station is going to go boom and then the complete SA will be without power for days untill the grid can be stabilised again.
Wonder who Zuma will be blaming then again :(
