Eskom load shedding update: Monday 2 March

POWER SYSTEM STABLE: ESKOM

There is a moderate chance that rolling blackouts may be implemented this week, power utility Eskom said on Monday.

"The system is currently constrained but stable. One could say there is a 50/50 chance of implementing load shedding," spokesman Khulu Phasiwe said.

He said the system was expected to take on more strain, which it could withstand.

"But if any of our generators break down then we may have to implement load shedding this week but our plan is not to implement any..."

High...medium...moderate: all words used in the 2 most recent ESKOM "update" thread posts.

Jirre, just spare us please! In future, when all goes dark, we'll know: ESKOM is load shedding.

Stop these idiotic, useless, non-sensical posts/threads re. load shedding updates.

50/50... Thats very comforting. Seems they know less about the status of the grid as every week goes by. May as well just say, if your light go out then we are, if they stay on, we aren't

Any update on the repairs and maintenance program?
This seems like Eskom throwing us bones and treating us like mushrooms. Even an overall update like 20 units out for planned maintenance and 50 units on breakdown maintenance.
Is Eskom making progress?

Actual valuable information. Then again I'm sure ESKOM themselves DO NOT KNOW.....

We were down for 5-hours in Auckland Park, 9:30 to 14:30. Waste of a day.
