Eskom power cuts cause manufacturing decline

Industry is struggling to maintain output levels in the environment of the current power crisis. There is no chance of creating new jobs towards increased output until this is resolved.
 
Let us feed into the grid and compensate us for it. Even if Eskom or local municipality compensates at 60% of what we are charged it will reduce our capital payback period. It will be sufficient incentive to install solar, reduce grid dependency and increase capacity.

Surely this will be quicker than building one power station?

If only they would go this route, but no-one in government is prepared to change the status quo.
 
More decline to be expected based on the dire situation being painted at the moment.

You forget that the muni's resell Eskom at double or more, they have *zero* interest in changing the status quo.
Eskom also doesn't want self generation as can be evidenced by the way they have to be dragged kicking and screaming into connecting up the REIPP generators.

I wish it were otherwise..
