Eskom prepaid Meter not showing any data.

Direct Eskom prepaid. Had this CIU for 8 years now. Was showing number of units last week but today nothing at all.

Turned it off, removed battery (replaced earlier this year) waited hours, and when when it turns on, you see it trying to connect to the smart meter outside, but just doesn't show anything.

Tried to hold power button for 5 seconds to see if it turns off/on but nothing. No error messages on CIU.

Should I turn off power to the house from outside?

Note that the CIU is connected to a non-essential plug that I have been using since inverter was installed to monitor units and reload units.

Note. When I press the buttons on the CIU you do see the numbers appear on the LCD and also there are beeps

For future reference for others. CIU had somehow died even though it appeared to be working.

Eskom were fantastic and replaced it and paired it, etc. The new CIU also has a backlight so easier to read the LCD panel. Took nearly 30 minutes for the new CIU to find the meter. Dude even connected it directly outside.

The best part - last week I had 240 Units when I last remember looking at it, today I am at 379 units. So either the old CIU was faulty or Eskom has also been a bit generous
