Presidency project planner worried about Eskom break-up

Head of the project management office in the Presidency, Rudi Dicks, flagged delays to Eskom's restructuring as a risk in the South African government's Operation Vullindlela programme.

He described South Africa as falling behind, and said reforms in the energy sector will likely be delayed due to the "complex" restructuring process.

As time goes by more and more people will move to self-generation for at least part of their power usage. Eskom will continue to increase prices and will eventually collapse completely as people are increasing forced to self-generate to save money, Eskom will be left with only big business and the nonpaying masses to provide for. They will also find increasing pushback to the idea that somehow those who are able to pay are responsible for the sick lame and lazy.
