Eskom seals bumper wage deal with one problem

Two of South Africa's major labour unions have accepted state power utility Eskom's 7% wage increase offer, while a third has rejected it and declared a deadlock, demanding a higher raise.

Give them 20% raise. They work so hard really.

They'll be crying for another bailout when Eskom jacks the prices to the point where nobody pays any longer. The money will have been stolen and layoffs will start. The unions will collapse.

I don't understand why the unions are still in bed with the ANC while it actively drives them into a corner with poor governance and policies.

Time to tie all SOE increase to the inflation rate, these job for vote beneficiaries have torn the ring out of the taxpayer for far too long. One can assume the real reason for the salaries is they keep the ANC in power.
