with that increase i can buy myself solar panels batteries and an inverter and build my own setup. Every month just put some money away and buy out of my pocket. If i have enough power to last for 3 days then cut Eskom feed.

Why are the power stations behind on completion?
ANC, Striking workers, angry ancestors, unions, lazy workers and useless head honchos with 7 million rand golden handshakes.
Eskom should not make that list of problems our problem.

Instead, stop paying the corrupt useless b@stards at the top multimillion rand salaries. Make them work for the money. Put them on R10 000 a month and let them live in areas where load shedding is a daily occurrence. That should save us quite a few bob, which can go to completing more cost efficient power stations (which may be speeded up by having load shedding inconveniencing them almost every day.

Sadly this is not China, at that salary see where you will find anybody that will work at eskom. Punishing the current employees will get us nowhere.
I would like to see what are their procurement cost and the entire chain involved. Methinks they are overcharged by middle-men and now we just have to foot the bill.

Start by cutting that ridiculous R1.5bn annual catering bill. It works out at R256 per person per day.

That's the equivalent of going to a restaurant every day for a three course meal. People need to be fed, but not at that insane price!

They were told in 1994, build power stations.
Fell on deaf ears.

The other sad one for Medupi power station was.
When they fired up the first turbine they were told the the Steam is still to dirty.
Result from this exercise was Turbine broken or pitted blades and bearings went for a loop.
Sorry all these lame excuses.
