Load reduction is in areas of high illegal connections and low chance of payment. It is not the same as load shedding, plus it's been happening since 2020.

No, because load reduction is in areas of high illegal connections and low payment. People moan that they get away with it, but apparently they moan when load reduction happens to punish them as well.
Load shedding effects everyone, load reduction is for areas of high illegal connections and low payments, protecting the valuable infrastructure. Plus it's been happening for quite sometime already

why are people dancing and singing look eskom isn't a complete pile of garbage, look they defeated load shedding.

I think its pathetic, the untold damage their antics caused during the wet coal and stage 6 excuses.
and their dancing and singing look how great we are.

I don't think anyone is dancing and singing... Eskom just singing their own praises.

People who are getting load reduction, hate it.
People who are getting their illegal connections removed, they aren't happy either.
People who spent their life savings on backup power are in a weird space where they are happy for the savings but still feel like they wouldn't have spent that money.
Everyone else is just waiting for the pain to come back.

They're celebrating because it's at least slightly better than it was last year. It's still an absolute dumpster fire. Fixing the debt hole and maintenance backlog Eskom has built up is probably going to take decades. Worth celebrating that they're finally at least making some right decisions... but it's very late in the game. They should have made these decisions 20 years ago.

They also won't have decades to fix their issues because they're in the process of chasing their customers away with 36% increases. They're going to wake up one morning and wonder why most of South Africa has been lost as customers.
