Eskom tariff hike approved

The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) has allowed Eskom to raise tariffs by 2.2% in the 2017/18 financial year.

Think they journo here needs a little re-think. A 2.2% annual rise is not a 'hike' it's hardly a stroll

So the big question is - 2.2% now... but what will they ask for next and when will next be?

As someone who works in energy efficiency / solar etc - a 2.2% rise really doesn't help our business cases! (people were getting used-to/expecting 10%+ every year!)

2.2% rises are surely not sustainable for Eskom? Anyone got any ideas about what they do next?
