Eskom wants huge price increase

No, it's not our fault you didn't plan ahead and now have to use extremely expensive open cycle gas turbines, **** off!

If this was any other normal company clients would jump ship as soon as their "price increase" was announced. Sadly "we" the "client" don't have any other options available.

Normal companies that wish to expand would get loans/investments, not up their pricing to moer and gone.

Pay less for what your workers eat and plan better otherwise go get forked ......... so glad getting out of here is on the horizon.

Cut off all the electricity thieves, i.e. those that make illegal connections from the nearest lamp post into the squatter shacks. If you happen to also cut of the heads of those thieves, that's also OK

Aye! Cuts costs and improves supply of power.

Get the Soweto money, cut off electricity thieves, stop haemorrhaging money on the flaky insecure hacked voucher system (R400m+ illegally issued vouchers per year that we know of) and slash your food budget, grow a set of balls with the unions. Problem solved.

Nersa have actually not rubber stamped Eskom's requests for a while now.

But if they get this increase, they can fsck off.. I will go solar and go COMPLETELY off the grid... So instead of making R1500 per month off me, they will make nothing.

Due to political pressure to underinvest - which is exactly what caused this mess in the first place.

They should have gotten their increases long ago...they didn't and now it'll be bigger increases. I'm guessing 3 years of 25%.

Thats not to stay the lack of increases is the main problem but it is certainly contributing.

So Eskom wants to increase its pricing, doesn't want to cut off the 1.5 million rand food supply, and we still going to experience load shedding after the price increase.... :(

How much does 1 unit at Eskom sell for? I heard the municipalities charge double the price for 1 unit :(

#GetTheSowetoMoney

+100

And I think this figure was around 9 Billion rand :D
