Eskom warns power system remains tight

Maybe time for Eskom executives to step aside and let REAL MEN do the job they obviously cannot.

Medupi will bring some relief, but unless there is a constant growth of power supply (green or otherwise), we will be backs to the wall for some time to come.

I would actually be happy to see a complete blackout which would initiate a massive reshuffle of Eskom !

Medupi Power Station will not help us. As it is Eskom have about 6 Power Stations that have exceeded their 30 odd year lifespan.
These old power stations need to be shut down and are unreliable.

Also remember Kriel, Matla and Duvha Power Stations do not meet 'emissions standards' and Eskom was given one last extension on their license, Basically they will have to retro fit the old power stations to make them compliant or shut them down.

It would take Eskom 4 Years to sort out one of the three above mentioned power stations and billions of Rands.

So I do not think the new power stations will help SA out of a power crisis, basically it will keep us were we are, rather than sinking any deeper.

Seesm they're more interested in revenue than actually doing something...
