What on earth is up with them???? I think they have totally lost the plot in all areas. Just heard on SABC3 that they going to continue to export electricity to other countries. How on earth can they do that when they cant even supply us with decent elec. They say load shedding is a thing of the past. We have had 2 brown outs this week alone

I just dont get it. It makes me so mad to think they trying to help other countries when they cant even help their own :(

Dear old Alex Erwin said we must treat all people fairly.

I can't see what's fair with /me having to pay an 50% increase whilst the neighbouring countries gets cheap power by the dozen  :(

All those fat cats can take a 50% salary cut, then I'll be prepared to listen to their ridiculous demands.

Nope.. its not ***... its Eskom and ANC and all these "struggle heros" trying to line their pockets...

Safferbeauty ... honey ... many of sub-Saharan political leaders are members of fraternity club. Mbeki and co. will sacrifice their own "mothers" to meet the demands of their "brothers".

Just thinking about it winds me up big time so I not going to think about it. They will get whats coming to them. Always remember what goes around comes around all the time

Er...some neighbouring countries *supply* power to SA. If we cut power exports, what do you think will happen to power imports? Also, some big power schemes in nearby countries will be coming on line in the next few years. Do you think they'll be happy to supply Eskom when we cut them off?

Ask Alex Erwin to explain it to you. He doesn't understand either, but he will conjure up a good lie.

So true! He said something about the amount of elec we export is so small that it will not affect our capacity. This man obviously thnks we are all idiots.

We export more than we import (and we import from 1 country only).

From the Nersa review of loadshedding relier this year:

• Eskom imports during the period amounted to 850MW from Cahorra Bassa.
• Exports exceeded imports by 469MW during the critical period under review.

As for getting power from neighboring countries, if we can hardly keep our own systems going what chance do you see of our neighbours doing so. Cahora Bassa has a combined forced and scheduled outage rate of 20%.
