Would make sense, seeing as though the goverment can no longer "afford" to pump in extra cash. So they have to get that money from somewhere.

Does anyone have a recent global comparison of our electricity prices since the increase cycle began?

We could be paying even less, if Eskom charged us the same as our neighbouring countries.
 
We were asked to make means to reduce our consumption. We did that by purchasing expensive alternative energy sources now we are being punished for it?
