That is true, while I value my privacy and have network wide ad blocking, follow good principles, I decided that 3 companies get my all data my whether I 'like' it or not (Apple, Microsoft, Google). The stuff I block, they may pick up via other means. Biggest one is location. So I made my peace with that that they have my info and I willingly also use their services.

So while I use a Samsung phone now, I don't use the Samsung default apps for messages, calls, contacts, alarm app. I use the google apps instead (like as if I was on a pixel phone). Samsung have no access to that type of data. Don't back up to Samsung cloud, etc.

Still forced to use Samsung gallery for photos (in the backend) and hence I am thinking next time around , I may go back to iPhone again. It is a bit cleaner from a where is my data going

Anyway, ESP or ESK (LOL) having a bit of fun is fine. They offer a free valuable service to all South African's, and that's that for me
