With the latest cracks this method won't tell you 100% if its legit.

If you don't have the paper with the product key, or if its not stuck on the laptop/pc then its probably not legit.

You can't. Certain pirated copies pass all windows validation tests.

Laptops almost alway's have a COA stating the OS version and your key stuck underneath. Either it's not there in which case your laptop is not licensed or possibly the wrong OS installed.
