Afternoon Everyone

I have moved into a housing estate which was meant to have fibre. Unfortunealy they havnt gotten around to it.

There is fibre in the estate to everyhouse and the DSTV etc is all carried over it. What they have done as a temp solution is as follows. They have put a wireless link in which connects to one of their sites.

We cant get the speeds I was hoping for but they are offering a 20 MB/s Down / 20 MB/s Up connection for R 1499 a month. It is uncapped and unshaped ( FUP is 800gigs per 7 days )

This is the result. ( They had issues over the weekend with interference but it seems to be sorted now )

Do you think this is a fair price? I dont think its too bad?
I am not sure who their back haul provider is.

I think its pretty expensive but its all gonna come down to how much the Fibre is per month.

If you can get 100mb/s with a 500gig cap for similar or better price I would rather take that.

At my work we pay R1099 for 100mb/s with a 1TB cap to put it into perspective.

1499 for 20mbs symmetrical uncapped unshaped actually isn't bad. I'd say the symmetrical is overkill, which is probably whats costing you extra
