EIGHTEEN months before he was murdered former AWB leader Eugene Terre’Blanche disclosed that he had hidden a sealed envelope with the names of two white men he alleged were responsible for assaulting a black security guard for which he was given a six-year prison term.

“Should something, let’s say (something) unnatural, happen to me, that information will be made public,” Terre’Blanche told his official biographer, Dr Amos van der Merwe.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Dispatch, the late AWB leader’s widow, Martie Terre’Blanche, yesterday confirmed that she was aware of the envelope.

Terre’Blanche believed himself to have been the victim of forces greater than himself and the AWB. Contemplating these – and other – events in prison, he came to the conclusion that, time and time again, he had fallen into the trap laid by the then NP government.
He repeatedly explains these theories in some detail and with a fair amount of logic. Terre’Blanche also maintained that he had been jailed unfairly for assaulting a petrol attendant and intimated that he knew the identity of the actual culprit.
