Does anyone have a slight idea when Android 5.0 will be pushed by MTN?

if its the note3/note4/s5 lollipop your after, just go to sammobile and get the firmware from there, no need to wait for mtn.

Just make sure you download the correct model. N9005 for note 3, N910C for note 4 , SM-G900F for S5

What about the PDA number, what does that mean?

Also which is the best region? I assume the UK would be the best since we get stock from Euro.

I'm interested to know what people are using lollipop for that they couldn't do with Kitkat?

Material Design. Improved battery life. Better notification management. Chrome integration in recents. To name a few...

Regarding notifications, how do I get them to fully display in lock mode? Without having to unlock the phone?

I've seen no improvement with battery, just after installing lollipop I found my phone was getting hot while idle, turned out to be the Facebook app so I've been using the Chrome browser.

Who can answer this?

As long as its the correct model number the PDA doesn't seem to make a difference that I am aware of. I've tried the polish and the uk versions of lollipop on my S5 and both were fine.

any update on this update, does this void our warranty if we doa manual install using firmware from sammobile ?

Its official Samsung firmware, dowdy to knox, so warranty stays in tact

I'm using CM12 so for me it's pull down on the notification. Then the clock is replaced by the notifications. If it's expandable you'll see more information.

Good day Gareth,

Thank you for emailing Customer Care.

Apologies for the delayed response.

Please be advised that the android update does not come from MTNSA. They get released by Samsung and Android.

We look forward to being of service to you in the future.

Just install the one from SamMobile for your device that is UK unbranded. It's official and you will get the updates as soon as they are released by Samsung.

Updates have to go through 3 stages after being released by Google before it gets to your handset.

1. Chip manufacturers needs to provide code to make the software work with their hardware.
2. It then gets passed on to cellphone manufacturers who compiles the code from step 1 to work with their hardware configurations
3. Network providers have to test each phone they sell with each hardware\software configuration to ensure that it works on their network before they are able to sell it or make the update available.

The person you dealt with is an idiot.
