So i have a billion router one port that i connect to a 5 port dlink 10/100 ethernet.

Now the problem i am having is since my router was taken out by lighting and replaced the internet is spread like it used to be over 4 computers but they all have 50/75% packet loss, if i plug my router directly into a computer the internet is 100% perfect.

Is it possible the dlink ethernet 5 port was damaged by lighting or just in general because it worked fine and now suddenly packet loss is 50/75% when i plug the internet/biliion cable into the ethernet and spread it.

When the billion is directly into a pc it works 100%.

Does it sound like a setup issue or that the dlink has been damaged in some way?

Could the mods fix the title for me? fail title but anyhow :D i am sure people will know was Ethernet

I find it odd that you'll have packet loss and not total loss of connectivity when the switch is damaged by lightening.
1Gbps unmanaged switches are so cheap now, I'd suggest that you just get a new one ;)

Packet loss like that means the switch it toast, for such a cheap switch, toss and get a new one.

Yup that is why i thought it was my line, seemed odd for everything to work but websites, i could download my nzb's at 10 meg but browsing the interwebs was terrible. Plugged the new one in boom all pc's working 100%.

Very strange to have everything working but browsing, might have been lightning or maybe it was just damaged.
