Ethereum mining rig

Hi guys

Please help as I have a few questions regarding mining Ethereum. Mods please move if not in the right section but questions are more hardware related. I know there are already a lot of threads on this but as I get answers it might bring up more questions.

First of all I am quite new when it comes to Bitcoin and Ethereum etc. Recently started trading Bitcoin and Ethereum and already have a wallet and account set up.

I started thinking that I would like to mine Ethereum. Maybe someone can shed some light on this if it is better to just trade or to start mining and hopefully mining Ethereum will have a positive future.

Main question: Is it better to buy a mining rig that is ideal for the job? Example https://www.bitmart.co.za/product/thorium-6470-gpu-mining-rig/

Or is it better to build my own machine? (Taking into account that I can buy directly from dealers that I have account with)

Any feedback, advice and tips would be greatly appreciated

Build your own machine with second hand GTX 1070s, RX570s or R 9390/Fury X/Nano and run nicehash legacy on it/them

Over/under clock the cards to stay below 70C at all times and you are good to go

Lots of people here myself included would help you out if it is really something you want to do without charging the appauling markups other "mining" businesses do

Thank you for the replies so far

@agentrfr would you be willing to put a build together for me from scratch please?

Only necessary to list all components, I will search for the products and prices at suppliers and Carbonite etc.
