This morning, after a whole weekend of uninterrupted stability, my connection went down and refused to come back up. I noticed that the green light on the ethernet cable was off, so I hooked up my USB cable and got a connection first time. I surmise that the modem has somehow decided it doesn't want to 'speak' PPPoE any more; does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might get it to do so once again? I have thus far uninstalled the drivers, reinstalled them and the dialer cannot pick up the modem at all... so I'm kind of at a loss.

Thanks in advance guys!

The ethernet cable is rather poorly constructed... It's quite possible it went faulty.

You could do a reset (short the contacts or press the button if there is one) on the back of the modem (inside the flip open cover)

I forgot to mention; I have done a reset on the modem by shorting the contacts on the back. No joy came from that. When the modem is powered on or reset, the green light on the cable flashes on briefly before going off when the 'seeking' light sweep begins.

leave cable out for at least 10sec, switch everything off, and try again, usually works for me.
