I've just installed a dual boot on my system using Suse Linux 10.1. I'm a complete newbie to Linux and I've read and don't understand how to get the modem talking through the USB port. Given that I probably have less than six weeks as a client of Sentech, does anyone have a spare/defunct Ethernet cable lying around that they can loan me to get Suse up and running?

It's in a good cause - I've had it to the eyeballs with the security maintenance problems associated with Windows.

Friend, go to a computer store and ask for 5 metres(or less) of UTP and ask for them to put the RJ45's on for you.
Max 50 bucks.
Oh ok, seems noswal has got you.
