Hi network experts.
I have a need for a high speed powerline network (over 1Gbps) but would like to know...
...are there are any powerline products that can run off a secondary power supply (such as a UPS) during power failures/load shedding?

In otherwords, I would like to use the electical network but power the powerline devices via UPS.

Any ideas?

My powerline adapters (both 1Gbps and 600Mbps) work fine over my power supplied by a Sunsynk inverter, despite the funky harmonics picked up by cheap PC speakers. Best to try and see, but I doubt that you will get over 1Gbps though, my 1Gbps gets between 500 and 600Mbps.

Just get a proper solution: a UniFi AP with ethernet cable and POE injector. Or switch with POE Port.

True, wired is first prize. But sometimes one needs a temporary solution. I have resolved to not do any more effort / spend a cent more on my place than I need to, because I may not be staying here much longer. Under those circumstances it's entirely acceptable to use a powerline adapter, especially since it's lying in the drawer already.

Mine works fine when I’m running the generator.

You can run them on the generator, but I'd advise against it unless you're running some sort of Inverter generator or have the inverter powering the house to clean the power. the reason I say this is there is a good chance you'll pop them with a surge from the generator. They are quite sensitive
