I tuned my Deltech HD FTA receiver onto the eTV Openview HD channels on Astra 4B, but the decoder reports them to be scrambled? Are these truly free to air channels?

No smartcard. Chip in STB for now. Smartcard slot available for possible future pay TV services.

You will not get this service on your Deltech.

OK thanks, was not aware of any authentication/activation procedures...so eTV's Openview HD channels are indeed not truly FTA, e.g. like DW, TV5 etc. on Astra 4B...

BTW please advise if one would be able to receive DW, TV5, BVN etc on an "etv openmedia authorised" decoder/receiver?

Thanks QT. BTW has anyone had a look at those new channels yet, i.t.o. quality (is it really HD?), content etc.? Any first impressions (that would drive the need for purchasing a decoder)?

I've got them playing behind me. Definitely HD broadcast on eTV, eMovies, eKasi and eToonz. Obviously not all content played on those channels will always be in HD. Content is good for a free service. More content coming in future.

Yes. The Space TV STB can. Not sure about the Ellies one.

I would be interested in taking the Space TV STB if I can get BVN as well. I already have TopTV. Will I be able to use them side by side?

Also what is the cost of the Space TV STB?
