Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone would consider a car in 2017 with a Euro NCAP rating of 4 stars and lower?
I was shocked to find that the Mazda CX-3 has a rating of only 4 stars. This has really put me off this vehicle.

Any thoughts?

The ratings get more strict over time as cars get more safe. A 4 star today is the same as 5 stars from a few years ago.

I'd have no problem purchasing a CX-3. Actually I'd love one.

Could you please clarify this claim? Where did you get this information from? Or is it just an assumption?

From my understanding of how Euro NCAP works, they review the validity of the rating every year.

Things get added like pedestrian safety and the seat belt warning. As I said read the article I linked. There's a perfect example there using the Renault Megane.

Did you read the report to see why it has 4 stars?
