Whats the deal with this game?
I'm busy downloading this game off SAIX,it seems to be rated quite highly.
Is this 14 day trial thing worth trying out,I dont feel like waisting 500megs for the download.
tx

If you like Online Space RPG's it is pretty cool. 14 Day trial i thought was good but did not hold me past 10th day.
Very pretty game though. I just found it too complex and harder to get into compared to other MMORPG's i played m8.

No harm if you got a decent cap size to Download it. Has a pretty big SA Organisation too.

Im going to keep this short... yes it is.:)

I've been playing eve-online from 200407 and from the get go i knew my life was changed. Eve is my first mmorpg I played. It was the reason i got adsl.

About a month or two later i tried eq2, guildwars, and wow. I have 2 say compared to those mmorpgs, eve is a way harder game. There is no upper lvl to achieve. There is no ultimate setup that will wtfbbq anybody and all the universe. There is always someone better than you with more skills and experience. But thats the fun of the game for me. Knowing i've got these hordes of more experienced players out there for me to outwit.

Eve is not a game for the weak. It is the hardest mmorpg out there and it has the greatest loss factor built into it when u loose your ship.

Think about this. You lose a raven battleship. This ship cost you 100 million isk to purchase. You can get a insurance that covers this ship....but the fittings and the stuff you had on the ship could have been worth in excess of a couple of billion isk.......
There is no insurance for fittings in this game. Basically the law of the verse says...If you can't afford to lose it. Don't fly it.

It is worth trying out

Ive been playing for almost 2 years now.

It is slow in the begining because there is just so much to take in. But if you make it through the 14 day trial and decide to go to a paid account you will find that there is just so much in the game to do and see.

Just try it and see:)

I've been playing for a few days now and just purchased my first new ship, a Minmatar Frigate called 'The Rifter'. Loads of fun.

The game is extremely complex but it's got one of the best in-game tutorials I've ever gone through and also a very well put together UI. Everything is carefully laid out and you don't spend long hunting for anything.

I havn't even scratched the surface yet but already I think It's a great game. It's got great atmosphere, great music, great graphics(for a 2003 game)... orsm gameplay.

Yeh,it is great!
I am in some small corp now doing like group mining and stuff, couple of hours left to learn the skill to get my inquisitor ship frigate,I'm playing as an Amarr...
Great game.

Hey echo. If you wanna chat to some south africans. Join in game channel: ze chat. I think the most south africans frequent that channel. Plus it's great to start swearing in afrikaans when the lag hits :)

Awsome game!!!!!!!!!
I made a statement 3 months ago and it still holds true ...

I will never play another game again just : EVE , it has everything i ever want in a game ... i wont rehash what has allready been said but to add :
Multiplay aspect is just incredible...

Please dont judge this game before you played at least 1 month , get to a player run corp, get your skills up a little , fly a cruiser get into a war ... then judge ...

You must do the tutorial !?! , Eve has a very steep learning curve ...

I have to agree. This game is awesome. Been playing just over 1 month now. Unfortunately in the 14 day trial you'll barely touch the surface of what can be achieved in this game. There always seems to be something new to learn.

It's brilliant!

Goonfleet ftw, the game is awesome, several different flavours of awesome. Yes it's hard, but it's very rewarding.

It is very playable in South Africa

I play it constantly off dialup (thanx again Telkom  )

Even being in quite large fleet ops isnt that bad anymore

I've played eve from dialup to wifi through to adsl. All in all you honestly don't need more than a 128k connection to run it smoothly. Though to get ts an eve with 128 is stretching it a bit.

Bandwidth considering. The game uses almost nothing compared to the local fps games.

I think after a whole sunday me an a bud only used bout 4mb of data to play for bout 12 hours.
Not bad all things considered.

Really eve and TS work fine togeter aswell on dialup.

Just dont even think of tryin to use ventrilo.. it will not work

Transfer in the game is minimal.. You can even play it off gprs if you want:p , the only real large transfer is when you log in for the first time after server restart anyhow.

Yeah that always sux. Everytime they do a patch they delete ure cache. So when u log in..everything has to be redownloaded. Kinda sux.

where can i download the game as saix ftp does not have it on and the website link doesnt work?
