Everquest 2

Hi

Is anyone else playing everquest. I seem to be having a lot of problems with lag and slow refresh between towns I have a 512 connection playing character on the runnyeye server.This game is amazing really enyoying it apart from the problems. I have even changed my settings down to allow for the lowest amount of graphics detail without actually destroying the imaging totally. I have a FX5200 Nvidia card. Can anyone give me some help.

Your Gfix card is problem EQ 2 needs a monster to play decently

On X800 XT before my upgrade EQ 2 i had to run on normal....May be stupid to even say..but i dont think any PC on planet can run it higher than 40fps in a raid on Maximum. Ok this was last year though.

On Raids i had to drop it to very low. I dunno what kinda setup you would need to run it at maxed...and for others that dont know....i mean "really" maxed

Edit: To Add...EQ 2 is newer version of SWG Engine..I think version 3. This engine has always had problems with FX cards too... Either way to enjoy EQ 2 on Normal/high without switching and in raids you may need to push it to 6800 GS or 7800 GT. Spoke to a mate on Sli 7800 GTX's. He cant run it on Maximum for all other than in cities. Without dropping to 15fps

Thanks I kinda thought that the graphics card was the problem as I am also playing Guild wars without any problems. I will upgrade my card.

Yep Guild Wars runs really well on most machines....Everquest 2 as with most SOE...as i swear by...only focus on Gfix

Wont go wrong with 6800 GS I assume FX you got or was only made for AGP? Person may still have 6800GS Agp sockets Aval
