PC hardware is niche and filled with people that can google.

Couple that with SA resellers often buying from "local suppliers" run by sharks (ie. Sahara = Gupta, Esquire = flip-flop on honoring warranties, etc.) and I'm jack's complete lack of surprise that computer resellers can stay in business.

Half the time I look at prices from a local reseller it costs the same from Amazon.com or cheaper.
There is something very broken there, it shouldn't be cheaper for me to buy a 1 off item shipped from the US (after it was already shipped half around the planet), for the same or less than what it is sold by someone who supposedly got said item using mass distribution from the same initial source.
