Ex-Luno developer launches SA-based Bitcoin exchange

Seems futile to prevent people from buying it. Preventing people from selling on the other hand...

Meh...pass. DCX10/EC10 or whatever it is called now is about as easy as it can possibly get unless you want to do some hardcore trading. No wallets, no blocked bank accounts, no "yet another ****ing account on yet another platform" to email me their "insights".

What happened to the other thread...reported for spam? Anyway. Not sure why they came here promoting it when they didn't have answers and signups weren't working. Tough sell trying that on a forum full of nerds.

Hy Saor - not sure what happened to it either - I've contacted MyBroadband to find out, but in case you missed it, here was my reply to Snyper and some of the other great feedback you guys were putting forward. If you have any other questions please let me know - I'd love to answer them for you!

Hey Snyper

Leon here, thanks for checking out our new exchange! Loving your feedback so far, please keep it coming - it really helps us build a better product.

Yep as a brand new exchange on the South African crypto scene - we're been open for only a week now - liquidity will be building up and up as we take on board more customers and partners, so for now, if you're savvy enough you can take advantage of some really good arbitrage opportunities across the exchanges to benefit from the price differences.

Our vision is for every South African to own Bitcoin - which is why we offer the lowest trade fees in the market. Liquidity will come in time, so far we've seen the average buy amount is between R200 to R1,000, so slippage has not much been much of a factor yet, but we are working to onboard more traders and partners to build that up, so that you can trade with the lowest fees in SA, plus not have to worry about slippage the next time you purchase that 1x BTC.

RE your prior feedback,

We will be adding the Bitcoin price to the home page capecrypto.com, as well as on the header once inside the web app trade.capecrypto.com, so that its easily discoverable. Our contact details could potentially be shown a bit more up front (where would you suggest is good spot for them?) - you have to scroll to the bottom of the home page to see them - we have two buttons "Support" in the footer, and above that "Help Center" in the last page segment, and of course you are always welcome to contact us on social media - the links are at the bottom of that page too.

Network confirmations - thanks for bringing that up too, I've just lowered it to a more competitive 2x confirmations!

We want to build the product out to be simple, clean, and Proudly South African, so that all South Africans can use, enjoy, and benefit from it, so any more feedback you might have would be great - you clearly know your stuff Snyper!

Why is the exchange / market not visible? I'd like to see it first before registering...

Thanks. Additional order types - stop limit / loss etc?
Not yet unfortunately, but we do have it as a potential on our roadmap for 21Q1 - if there is enough demand for it. Are you a high frequency trader Saor - do you use the stop-loss to hedge against other markets? Would love to know your use cases, it would help us prioritise the next features we are building
