Excel 2003 question

Something petty but strange...

My close button (top-right redish windows X button) is always disabled.. I can only close a spreadsheet file by going file...exit... Wouldn't matter what file i work on.. I think this is rather uncommon & irritating

Went to macros, there are no user defined macros (the dialog is clean), except of cause the built-in Excel 2003 VB modules...
