Hi guys,

I hope somebody can help me with this.

From our database I am exporting data to excel - what I then want to do is use conditional format to highlight some cells if they contain a certain value.

I have tried using conditional formatting and even tried using excel's IF command, but with none of the data exported to excel does colour coding work. Unless I manually select a value, fill it with a colour, get no result, and then press fill a second time only then does it change colour.

Please tell me I am doing something wrong and there is a simple solution for this.

Check that your numbers aren't stored as text, or that you aren't specifying incompatible conditional formatting (i.e. text for number cells).

I've never had problems with conditional formatting, works as advertised.

It could be that your cell types are not correct, e.g.) you are trying to highlight a zero value but the cell format is text.

Maybe if you could upload a sample file I could check what is wrong.

I have double checked that the values in the cells are numbers and not text. All the values are in a range of 10-50 and if a value is less than 30 I want it red and more than 30 I want it green.

But its not only with numbers that this is happening. Even when just trying to fill a cell in the excel sheet it doesn't want to fill. I have to click fill a few times and then it will fill. Not because the pc is slow :p

I won't mind sending the sheet, but already at home now will see what I can do tomorrow.
