I have an excel spreadsheet that is password-protected for editing. How can i change this to enable editing? Of course i don't know the password.

Is just the sheet pw'ed? or is the whole workbook?

If it's just the sheet then i think i got something that you could use.
It's a little .xla file that you just load and then it loads a "Unprotect sheet" macro. Nice an fun.

Had to use it when our books closed cause our stupid fin ppl decided to block a excel file so heavily u couldn't even copy stuff out of the fewking file.

Just pm me ure email an i'll send it over

I have used OpenOffice Spreadsheet before to open protected xls files for editing.

Let me quickly move on to 667 b4 i'm tarred & feathered & chased from the forum :)

I've managed to sort it out with a simple copy & paste, but i'm still interested in the solution in case i run into one i can't copy.
Armitage, you have PM.
NJR ZA, pls explain how you did it. Just normal open file using OpenOffice?

You request the password form the person who locked it.
