**Excel On A Cell Phone**

I have a friend who runs a hostel/guest house overseas. All his bookings are maintained via an Excel spreadsheet. Basically, they have the layout of the premises with the beds/rooms which are currently allocated and those that are available mapped out.

He now wants to be able to access this spreadsheet via a cellphone. Most of the Excel viewers & editors which I've used on phones are not worth the effort involved.

What would you recommend as the best smart phone to handle & represent Excel and other Microsoft Office applications most accurately?!?

Have you tested on a higher end Android phone?

Use phones with "Windows Mobile" or Windows Phone 7" OS (Operating System) and avoid "Android and Symbian" crap. Make sure that the phone Ms Office Mobile application that can "Read and Write" this application.
This works for me on a daily basis using a Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro OS device.

How to test the cellphone sales person = Ask for a phone that can play a Ms Powepoint presentation, see his eyes roll before tries to BullSH*T you.

Picsel Smart Office. Works fine on my SYMBIAN phone. Available for other OSs as well.

Allows you to view and create word, excel, powerpoint docs and view PDFs and images.

Yip, getting a Windows Phone 7 really would be the best option here. The mobile office is great.

iPhones can open them directly but you can't edit.
