my dad's computer got both versions on it. But he is old and understand the 2003 version.
He can open any excell 2003 or 2007.

But when he click on a file to open it 2007 starts.
I want 2003 to open it. How please. But at [open with ] their is just 1 MS excel.

Why 2 versions- my brother bought 2007 and install it. then I told him my dad knows 2003 and ask him to install 2003.
I will first have to install fileformat converter and then uninstall 2007 as he already save some file on the new ext's.

If you have both installed, simply right click on the file, go to "open with..." then "choose default program". Then select excel 2003 and tick the "always use the selected program to open this file" tab and press ok.

Going here purely from memory as I don't have access to an XP VM right now

Open File and Folder options,

Find the File type in question, change its "Open" property to point to the excel.exe in program files\microsoft office\(office10 or 11)\excel.exe

In Vista/7 it's slightly different -> Control panel,Change the file type associated with an extention
