Hi,

It seems to me that I am getting excessive data being uploaded (sent to the server) lately.

I am currently with Axxess ISP and I am using the Telkom Mega 100 VWR Router with one main pc (mine) and my wife's notebook connected to it. The main pc is always connected, but I am never there during the day, nether is there any mail or other programs running, and I cannot understand WHAT data gets uploaded? My wife is hardly ever on the internet.

Please have a look and see whether this is extreme uploads?

Date Uploaded MB
08 November 2007 404.95
09 November 2007 588.48
13 November 2007 198.01
14 November 2007 627.24
18 November 2007 411.26
19 November 2007 684.94

Is is not like that every day, but most days.

What could cause these uploads?

Any help Please.

Have you scanned for little nasties like viruses rootkits?

IIRC you can have Axxess tether your connection to a specific line which would prevent others using your account details.

EDIT
vIP Lock - Enabling your ADSL account to be locked to your ADSL line reducing the risk of account abuse.

A virus/worm is the most probable problem though... get your pc's checked out as soon as you can. Try downloading Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool, and do Windows updates as well. Very necessary to keep your pc clean.

You sure there is no torrent app running on that pc?

I noticed once that Bittorrent was running, but was not downloading or uploading anything?! Then I looked at the icon in the taskbar and it says 2 KB/s up! Maybe that IS the problem, but why and what is it uploading and to where?

Apologies for the ignorance.

I had the same problem. I found the problem was that my emails did not go through to the server. Was uploading the whole time. Check your email settings. Get the program called netlimiter. tells you what app. was uploading the whole time
