Hi,

Who can assist... we had a 2MB 3G data stick contract with MTN, Vox Telecom for +/- 3 years account every month between R200.00 and R300.00, al of a sudden we received bills for R2600.00 the R700.00 and the last one R4600.00. we immediately cancelled the contract. Vox Telecom just told us it's data we used and they can not give us any detail on witch websites was visited, who can we contact to assist us??

Has any of your devices upgraded to Win 10? It is a 3GB+ download.

Some devices download it in the background without you knowing....

Yes probably something downloading in the background and it's not Vox fault if something on your computer is using all the data. It's also illegal for them to record your web browsing history.

Maybe install net limiter to check whats using all the data.

Why can't they gives you the websites though? Thought they log all that crap somewhere.

They only keep track of the amount of data used and not what it was used for, as I said in my previous post it's illegal for any ISP to keep track of your internet usage.

Not to mention in would cost them a fortune in data centres to maintain and keep those logs.

Tracking data use via Radius is a single database.

So how they prosecute copyright illegal downloads here? Didn't they nail a guy for a local movie last year?

They do that by tracking the trackers and sourcing who the IP belonged to at the time.

Most of the Torrent "hosts" are bull****, simply checking out other torrent hosts.

Also downloading isn't illegal. They nailed him for uploading which is "distribution" and the real problem.

@OP, did they at least give you this? Having the data records might help in identifying what went wrong. It could at least identify if a single download was to fault. Maybe ask Voxy to investigate.

Do you not have a limit set? Can you have one set on this type of account.

PS: how much data did you use for the amount paid?
