Excessive mobile data usage on Google play services

Hey there...

I'm using a Galaxy S6 edge + and have been noticing that Google play services has been using an excessive amount of my mobile data. I have tried everything I know to turn it off. Switched off background data, uninstalled all games and apps also completely reloaded the device. I am running Android 6.0.1 on a non rooted device.

Is there anyone that can assist me?

I use an app called " No root firewall". You can set all the apps to access the net on wifi only and certain ones like whatsapp to use your data. My data usage dropped a hellavu lot since i started using it.

Maybe even try Opera Max. Apart from compressing data it does give you a timed history of data usage.
You are also able to restrict apps to WiFi usage only.

Why not just disable app-auto updates?
