Hi Guys,
Round about November 2013 had new neighbors move in next to me and all of a sudden my ping rages from 500m/s to 1100m/s. Ran a trace route and looked like the exchange was congested. After numerous calls to telkom, fault reporting and claiming back refunds due to the service being bad my line was still giving problems. One hot summers day in Feb 2014 I was just "gatvol" and decided that I was here first....my line was here first so I took my ladder out and cut the neighbors line. and hey.....My ping was sorted (got lowest 5m/s, highest 23m/s).
Now July-August 2014.
Same problem...No neighbors connected to my box. Ran a trace route and hey....same,congestion. My ping is normal in the mornings from 8am to 10am then it goes up from there. Reported to telkom 23/07/2014 and the guys came out and explained to me that unfortunately telkom is not going to upgrade the exchange if its congestion because there are not many users on the exchange to valid the upgrade. I am o a 2 mb and asked the guy if it will help to upgrade to a 4mb line because the exchange says that it can handle it on their website. He laughed in my face and said that the 2mb is more stable than the 4mb so rather stay where I am. They closed the fault that I can't claim again.
Now my question.... Surely I can complain somewhere and get this problem sorted?
I have escalated the problem with telkom with no success.
