There is something I dont get, SAIX have been able to prioritise certain ports for gamers, ie Counterstrike Steam servers yet they are unwilling to prioritise the other ports that other people use?

As well as providing a server for gamers that allows them to download files and the data does not get added to their cap.

I find this an unacceptable, and unfair bias. If they are willing to do that, then I feel that all local traffic should be discounted from the international limit. As well as traffic shaping being discarded.

Saying that the cap is to stop power users abusing the bandwidth, and then allowing gamers to abuse the bandwidth is making the rest of us suffer at the hands of CS players while they have exceptions created for them.

It's news to me that they have done that. I don't play CS myself, but the players I know that do, all play locally and as far as I can tell port shaping is not used locally.

Steam authentication is done via overseas servers, but SAIX provides a local content server for game updates. So once a Steam user has logged on their bandwidth is being used locally (assuming that they are playing one of the local servers).

they play localy, but steam authentication is not done localy.

local bandwidth is as much a problem as everything else. My point is that if they are willing to make compromises like that, why not make them for the rest of us? SSH ports etc.
