Good day,
Quick question (its not for me)
Does anyone know of any good companies which will provide technical support for an existing app. Its quite easy finding APP developers, but we are struggling to find anyone who supports existing apps. This is fixing bugs etc. In other words we want someone we pay X amount per month and they provide any technical support for the app.
The people they used to create the app is just causing more nonsense than they are fixing....

You may wish to add more details about the app, specifically what it’s written in as that will greatly impact the “who”

reddit thread? who else uses this app? maybe somebody else created a forum to fix issues with this app.
as without access to the source code behind the app, you pretty much stuck with what you get.

Weird question.

An App is developed by developers. Specific developers that know the App from the ground up.

Sounds like someone made an App for someone and now there's nobody to fix any issues.

Devs don't give monthly services to fix random Apps and software. You pay for the entire process. Continuously.

But surely there are people/companies that can help with scenarios like this whereby the original developers are AWOL or whatever the case may be?

I suspect this is why they are sitting with this problem as it was an independent developer they found who created the app (Not SA based)
That is generally what happens when people or companies try to cut corners or get something for "cheap".

They would need to approach either another developer or freelancer to continue with the app, fix it, or redo the parts that needs attention, wasting more money. Or pay for a professional firm or developers to fix the app and do future support, but this will cost.

No. Plain answer.

Developers don't mess around like that.
They will break it down and remake it.

Even if they didn’t, at least for the first few to many months, a good 60 to 80% of their billable time is likely to be spent figuring out WTF is going on before they can fix begin to try and fix it.

Exactly. Which is a waste of time and money.

Easier to rip it apart and start from scratch. Use the info available and possibly update and redesign it.

This isn't a wheelbarrow or car that anyone can touch up or fix.
