Big JSE exodus

The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) is facing a big problem — many companies are delisting from the exchange with very few new listings to make up for the decline.

The JSE’s latest financial results revealed 25 companies delisted from the JSE in 2021. It follows 20 delistings in 2020 and 24 delistings in 2019.

This is extremely bad for local investors. With only a couple hundred companies left on the exchange and losing on average 20 a year, things may not look good in the future. Also, no new companies replacing those delisting.

All the more reason to invest overseas. It's never been easier.

Why subject yourself to the whims of massive market manipulators and predatory public investment firms, when you can source funding from a source that is more likely to understand you business?

Also for any pension funds and RAs. Regulation 28 should be uplifted and National Treasury executives burned at the stake for the piece of **** that it is.

Regulation 28 pretty much prevents that. One is forced to invest 70% of your pension/provident/RA into the local economy and if your employer is making the deductions one can't even decide to take the tax knock and invest offshore in non-retirement products.

Yes, correct.

Is there perhaps one prediction that forecasts some future good for this country? Just one? Man alive, every single metric is pointing Into the toilet.... What carnage.

When the top 40 delist sure. These aren't big ones. They should've stayed or gone to AltX.

The South African motor industry is off to a strong start in 2022 with total vehicle sales in January at 41,382 units – up 19.5% on the same period last year, said Mark Dommissee, chairperson of the National Automobile Dealers’ Association (NADA).

You made it sound like you're stuck here. Go fight in the war.
I keep hearing these "go to Europe" insults slung at white south africans who have any kind of criticism, hell even an unpopular opinion to express. It has just become THAT easy, hasn't it?

If the guavament would only arrange for me to get entry into my country of "origin", I would be outta here in a flash. Funny thing is, if this offer were to be extended to all the whities left, I'm not sure there would be many whities left. The ANC are even looking around a bit wide-eyed going "heeeeey, where'd all those bank-accounts-that-we-taxed... i mean 'emigrants' disappear to?"

But hey, keep slinging that quip. It's becoming almost as tired as that 'ole classic of calling someone a "racist", it's starting to becoming a huge meh.
