I'm not really sure where are time-outs set. Sometimes a web-link my take long to load maybe because of some security programs trying to scan every link access or something of similar nature. Is there a way one could extend or disable the time-out or time set for time-out?

I have been wondering this myself, sometimes I open a page that has 30 megs or so of pictures and I keep on having to refresh or click on each cross and "show picture".
It was even worse in IE7 for me. It sux being stuck with 56k
